Vandalism!

I am pretty laid back generally but am really cross about this.
Here is the embankment beside the A610 where it cuts through our village and passes under a road bridge.
Yesterday a working party arrived in the morning and completely cut down and cleared all the oak, sycamore, hazel and birch trees that covered the embankment.
They constituted a hazard to nothing, and actually also served (apart from being attfactive and of value to wildlife) as a road traffic noise buffer.
What is left?
Well you can see - a forlorn bare slope with nothing on it but sad looking tree stumps, sawdust, grasses and the odd piece of inevitable urban litter.
