" BRAVE OR FOOLISH?"

Dragged myself down to the beach this morning with Mr A and Phoebe.  Hadn't been down for a couple of days and we were very surprised.  The sand has been completely re-worked by the sea and our usual path straight down to the sand has been replaced by a 5ft wall of sand (see second picture).

As we walked along the beach we were aware of this mad person in the sea on his own fighting with the huge waves.  As we continued into the corner of the beach where the beach reaches the West Pentire Cliffs we were comfronted by a 10ft wall of sand.  We watched horrified as a pack of dogs ran down from the top path, expecting to run on the beach but instead falling from a massive height.  One, a large Alsation howled in pain as he fell and then another 5 dogs appeared before the 'dog walker'.  She realised the problem and tried to navigate them down in a safer place.

The other photo is of a runner who almost made the same mistake as the dogs, before finding a suitable place to scrabble through the sand.

This change of sand conditions has amazed us, not being here before in the winter but it shows the power of the Atlantic Ocean  to move thousands of tons of sand.

It is now blowing a huge gale again so we are battening down the hatches for the next 24 hours.

Friday tomorrow so all you working types can soon rejoice with another weekend to enjoy.  Love to you all. xxxx
