The Soldier's Cottage
Mum said Let's go somewhere different today. So instead of going south to the nature preserve, we headed north towards the city. We very rarely do this, because we both like the forest and meadows better. But it was a nice change, with lots of new things to explore.
We live on the old grounds of two regiments. Left from this era is a real soldier's cottage, with outhouses, built in the 17th century. Farmers were ordered by the King to, two or more together, recruit and support a soldier, giving him and his family a cottage and a piece of land. This particular cottage has been moved here, but there are still many preserved out in the countryside. This is the larder, which had a nicer roof to blip. No food inside any more. I checked.
I am so looking forward to Christmas! Food is being brought home and prepared, presents are being wrapped and mum is in a festive mood. I love it when mum is in a festive mood! And I have definitely seen two bags of skumtomtar, my favourite Santas. Yay!
