Commanding the Waves

Boxing Day. Katie slept in until 8 before having breakfast in bed and watching a bit of Little Princess. We were steady getting ready, popping out to my aunts to collect left possessions and say goodbye to the South African relatives. We pottered at Grandads until popping out for a late lunch with Uncle Simon. We walked along the seafront enjoying the slightly flooding waters over the front, Katie splashing happily until she realised it was rather chilly. We ended up lunching about 2.30 so by the time we came out the tide was quite high and beginning to be happily feisty. Katie had a glorious time watching the waves - extremely well supervised and from a very safe distance.

We came home for hot chocolates, a snuggle with Grandad and Granny and a double watching of the new Frozen short film. She sat down for a second take of Christmas dinner, declaring half way through that she was ready for bed. I took her to our room after she'd pretty much finished it off. She then decided in fact that she wanted to do a little music theory, so after completing an exercise about intervals, she finally snuggled to sleep. I say finally. She was asleep by 6.30pm. It's now 11pm and she's on my knee watching The Muppets Christmas Carol because she overheated and is wide awake!
