The Long Way Home

I was genuinely disappointed to leave Akoroa this morning as I am sure there is more to see and do in this lovely place, plus it marks the end of our camper van adventure. I think NZ is sad to see us leave - we headed back to Christchurch in torrential rain!

A fond farewell to Bessie, she has done us proud and I have loved the freedom of the open road. I've still another day in Christchurch before I leave, but it is already beginning to feel like the end of the adventure. I have been tremendously impressed with NZ and hope to return.

The sister & co leave very early tomorrow to continue their tour of the north island so it will be an early dinner and bed for them. I shall venture into the city we are out near the railway station to meet up with friends from Japan before another exciting Blipmeet tomorrow!
