Fes

A long train journey from Marrakesh to Fes.  Lovely scenery, but difficult to capture on a photo.

By the time we arrived in Fes it was dark.  We are staying in a Riad in the Medina (the old city).  We found a taxi at the station, and negotiated what seemed a reasonable fare to the Medina.  Though the taxi driver did not seem to know where he was going. and in retrospect, did not get as close as he could have done to the guest house.  We then had a guide cum porter who took us through the pedestrian streets to the Riad, and was very greedy when offered a tip.

We had asked the guest house here to cook our evening meal, and a very nice meal it was too.   The photo is a view from the Terrace, where the food was served in a sort of conservatory.  The guest house is crammed with "stuff", and reminds me of some of the rather twee B&Bs one can find in the UK.

There is wifi here, but on our arrival, we were told there was a problem, so blipping had to wait.
