Making time to dream

They say you have to be in it to stand a chance of winning it.  So when my wife’s email arrived in the early hours, you sort of dream.
Inevitably though dreams like this are shortlived.  We have had similar emails before telling us the Lottery people have news for us, and of course, we have never won anything more than a few quid.
Today’s was a bit more generous — £6 to be precise.  Hardly the stuff that dreams are made of!
Come to think of it, the most we have ever won was about £70, and I know we felt chuffed at that. But such emails in the middle of the night are very rare, however much they set the pulse racing when you switch your phone on.
Perhaps the best solution is not to dash in to open the email, but leave it for several days.

That way, there is time to dream.  But then again I’d be disappointed when my dreams were eventually dashed!
