Old Friends

I snuck out of work for a couple of hours at lunchtime today for a leisurely picnic in the sunshine at the local park with some friends who were visiting from Singapore.

My little ones have previously spent many happy hours in this same park with these two, post nursery class last year. Our friends moved to Singapore last October and were only back in the UK briefly before heading on to South Korea. This week has been a bit busy for both families but we were all really keen to see each other so squeezed in a picnic meet up before their flight at 4.

It was great to see the little ones all play so well together and to be so genuinely delighted to catch up after almost a whole year.

The flatbread pizzas that my lovely husband made and brought to the picnic were pretty special too. I'm thinking long lunches in the sunshine are the way to go, even if they do mean having to work longer into the evening to make up the hours!
