Evening fly past
My father in law took a trip up in one of his planes this evening as we went off for a drive to feed the steers (known as the naughty boys) and to see if we could find the giraffe roaming around their paddock. Alas, no giraffe (it was there - my father in law testified).
It was a delightful cool evening driving around the paddock with four of the dogs either panting behind us or having a run by the side of the Land Rover. The perfect tonic to a day in town.
My new-found admiration of the NHS continued today when we were charged $100 for a 5 minute visit to a doctor who was an hour late for our appointment, then a further $70 for a blood test that needs to be sent to South Africa. The blood test is a routine test in the UK. The delay in seeing the doctor meant we missed our beloved baby swimming, but did mean we had a lovely coffee at Midy's where our boy is a firm favourite with the staff.
