By the Light of the Silvery Moon

I spent 45 minutes waiting for a pelican (who was badly lit) to leave its perch. After I got it, I went in search of the local osprey pair.

I found what I thought was the male (because it was sitting around and doing nothing) sitting on a light post. As an added bonus, it was framed against the rising moon.

But then...but then...the sitting bird was jumped, was ambushed, was overtaken. Sooooo...it was the female!

To say I was excited would be an understatement. I was close to being flustered. Like all of us males, I knew the "act" wouldn't take very long. Instead of worrying about what my settings were, I just snapped away...hoping for the best.

I was right. It didn't last long.

Just so amazing...
to see ospreys at the bay.
Only one small complaint...
they've never heard of foreplay?

The backlit pelican, and what happened to the amorous couple after they were finished. In the "good deed" picture, I caught a very lethargic baby lizard, and gave him a ride down 7 stories to the ground.

After looking at all the coupling pictures...I'm off to take a COLD shower. HA!
