Mallow

A fine sunny day until the weather became too hot and then we had a tropical storm. Not much inspiration for photography today.

Last night in the rain we went to a friend's barbeque! Mad people we are! It was to celebrate their 60th and 65th birthdays and fortunately the cooking was done under shelter and we ate inside. On the way there there were many posters advertising village fetes and "Music in the Park" which either got swept away in the rain or never happened. We drove through one flood across the road and thought by the time we came back after 1 am the water level would have gone down. Not a bit of it! There were four more floods, abandoned cars that had stalled in the water and wouldn't restart, empty cars parked willy nilly by the side of road and one pub which was completely waterlogged. Were we glad to get home safely!
