Cherry Ripe

Well, nearly, but not the fat dark juicy kind. They come from a garden flowering cherry, don't grow very large and mostly fall off before they have matured.

Cherry Ripe is the name of an English song written by Robert Herrick (1591-1674) and set to music. In more recent years it has been mentioned in books and sung in several films including the horror film Night of the Demon (1957).
