Today's the day ............................ to have a party

I'm afraid I didn't take any action shots today - I was far too occupied getting ready for, and then enjoying, the Burns Supper that we had here this evening.

It's wonderful that people will accept an invitation to come to something that, for the most part, they have no idea what they are letting themselves in for!  What's more, you can ask them if they will please read out a poem, sing a song or play a tune - and they will do that as well.  You serve them a meal of Cullen skink, haggis, neeps and tatties followed by cranachan (all of which is outside the  normal edible comfort zone) and they will clear their plates.

They will give you an evening full of laughter, musical expertise, literary inventiveness, fun - but most important of all - good friendship ............................
