Locked out
This is a back blip.
This happened yesterday, Tuesday.
I woke up not feeling great and I decided I would spend the day at home. I had an appointment and I decided to cancel it for that reason. I couldn't get any mobile phone signal whatsoever in the flat though, so my only option was to go outside to make the phonecall. I put my jacket on, opened the door to to ouside, closed the door behind me and... aw crap!!! I had left my keys inside the flat!
Now, in my flat there are two doors: one leading to the flat that locks itself automatically and one leading to the street that needs a key. I had locked myself between the two doors with the extra bonus of no having any mobile phone signal... extra crap!!! What to do? I coudn't get in, but I couldn't get out either. Two options crossed my mind initially: smash the glass door leading to the flat or start banging on the wooden door leading to the street crying for help. I tried opening the flat door with my jacket zip. Didn't work, obviously... but I had to try... Sat down and had a think at my not great situation. Then, I realised that the door leading to the street is a double door and one side is bolted while the other is locked. That was a great finding! I unbolted the bolted side of the door, pulled the doors in and I could get outside!!!! Yay! Now, how to get inside?
I phoned the agency and they told me I had to go to St Andrews to get a copy of the key from them, but how to get to St Andrews with no money? Luckily, I now live in a small town where there is a great community environment in which everybody helps each other. The guy from the shop downstairs offered to lend me £10 to get a bus to St Andrews and back. Went to St Andrews in a horrible windy and rainy weather to get the keys and eventually managed to get back into the flat. I didn't do much after that.... Not a great day....
I've been really absent minded recently, I have to admit. I even put sugar in my fish and chips today. I guess there has been a lot in my mind and I'm just simply tired. Need a holiday!!! Haha!
Thanks very much for all your lovely comments, stars and hearts. I'm trying to get back to the blipfoto routine but I'm finding it really hard at the moment, can't explain why... I'll try and get back to you soon. Hope you're well xx
