What's new?

Well at least it's not another bloody street sign! I grew up near Wimbledon and the theatre is one of the most recognisable landmarks in the town centre. Turns out that the "new" was added to the name when it reopened under new management in 2004 but although it has been extended and modernised to an extent, it has fortunately retained its wonderful Edwardian façade and interior. Cheesy as it may sound this view of the cupola through the backs of some adjacent shops reminded me of the rather more grand shots you often see of the dome of St Paul's Cathedral. You can read more about the theatre here and here
