From the Royal Festival Hall

Our annual visit to see Transatlantic Sessions at the Royal Festival Hall on the Southbank in London this evening with friends Wendy and Chris.

A very pleasant evening with a 2 for 1 pizza beforehand and then a very entertaining concert afterwards. I've written before about Transatlantic Sessions; an "orchestra" and "choir" of the very best Celtic musician from Ireland and Scotland playing with some of the best Roots and Traditional musicians from the east coast of America. This year they were joined by the Milk Carton Kids, a duo from California who admitted they were not steeped in the traditions of Celtic or East Coast music but who brought their own brand of unique talent to the show.

The London skyline is always impressive as you cross the footbridge from Charing Cross station on the way to the Southbank and today was no exception. I only wish I could capture it better. This shot was taken with the iPhone pressed against the window of the 5th floor of the Royal Festival Hall. I tried with the proper camera on the bridge but the passage of people caused the bridge to move.
