Evolution

It must have been having a laugh when the Flamingo evolved. Evolving long legs so you can wade in deep water means you need a long neck too so you can swing your bill upside down as it filters the water to eat small shrimps that make you go a funny pink colour. Must have been easier ways to eke out a living.
The larophiles amongst you will have spotted the flock of Mediterranean Gulls in the background.
This salt pan was en passant between the Ardeche and Marseille airport to catch our flight back to the UK. Two species of bird I won't be seeing again for a while.
