Bursting
The garden seems full of things bursting with life. These daisies couldn't wait any longer. (Nor could a bunch of strawberry flowers, though they probably should have done - I'm not sure winter is quite done with us yet.)
Long market trip with CarbBoy as my helper. Heavy rain was forecast, so the market was at half strength both in terms of stalls and customers. But all the stalls I wanted were there. Also a trip to the organic supermarket for CarbBoy's oat milk (and for him to be petted by the owner, who has heard much about his allergies after an unfortunate incident with some milk that was 2 months past its use-by date).
Lunch was a feast of the best bread and the best cheese. The bread today actually had Mr B speechless. Which frankly doesn't happen very often.
Later, some garden work was called short by a twinge in my back, well, more of a pre-twinge really, but I didn't want to take any chances, so headed in for baking and an Archers catch up session. TallGirl expressed interest in baking, and has now made her first ever Victoria sandwich cake*.
After dinner, West Side Story, which the kids mostly watched and which CarbBoy accurately summed up as "Good, but sad".
* It would have been a Victoria shrunken brown biscuit cake had I not been a bit more attentive to timings than she was...
