Leap

(Like a salmon.)

Rubbish night's sleep due to the cold I keep trying to ignore briefly re-asserting its existence.

With no word from Italy on how to make our stove work, I decided to call in reinforcements and ask a friend who speaks Italian to call and give them what-for. It seemed like it might be helpful to give her a run down on what the stove was doing that was not right. So I turned it on, and it ran through all the usual set up stuff.... and just worked. And continued working just fine until I turned it off this evening. I hope my text to the heating engineer who told me it wasn't working didn't come over as sarcastic, but you can never tell.

Later, CarbBoy helped me in the garden while TallGirl spent the day in Lavaur working on a school project with two friends. More garden work for me, including hauling sacks of lime, and finally all the building materials the builders 'helpfully' left in the middle of the 'lawn' are now behind the shed. (And my sore arm tells me that my lime-hauling days are behind me.)

Dinner was two stir-fries of leftovers, with obviously cake for pudding and then some of these 'fish 'n' chips'. A luxury very occasionally imported from Britain and consumed greedily by Mr B and me.
