We're now at the highest altitude of our trip. Although we passed 4400m to get to Puno, Lake Titicaca is at 3800m above sea level. I've had a cracking headache since arriving but hopefully, there will be no more ill effects of altitude.
We took a boat trip out to Taquile Island and on the way we stopped on the floating islands of the Uros tribe. I can honestly say they were the strangest thing I encountered on the whole trip. The islands are built from block of the reed roots, the blocks are about a meter square & they are lashed together & then covered in layers and layers of reeds.
This young girl is the daughter of the couple who's home we visited.
