Oh Bugger....
...wherefore art thou?
So, the council have come up with a bizarre idea...they want to impose a spot fine on people who use swear words or abusive language around Salford Quays. Goodness knows how they are going to man it or what will be thought of as swearing...but anyway the whole idea of it made me chuckle. In fact my first reaction was...bugger!
Being the 'wannabe rebel' that I am I had to do something about it today, so I prepared some swear words and donned my 'foul mouthed flasher' coat. I was going to go on my own, but all rebel heroes need a sidekick and as I was having a catch up with Carey I talked her into coming with me.
I had planned to stand in the plaza outside the BBC, but as we rounded the corner it was filled with a five a side football game, people and cameras...all for Sport Relief. I looked to see if there was anyone famous although I wouldn't know any footballers if I fell over them! but didn't see any, so we wandered onto the bridge. As I set up and posed a few people passed by and chuckled and commented, they had seen the article too. We had a laugh and I got the shot I wanted.
When we wandered back near the football game I collared a gorgeous man to ask him what was going on and should I know anyone there. I'd seen a lanyard round his neck and thought it said Sport Relief....he didn't know much because he was a lecturer for Salford University...which it clearly said on his lanyard..doh! 'Ooops', I said, 'I should wear my glasses more often.' He went off laughing. I opened my 'flasher coat' sadly and pointed to SHIT !!
It was only when I arrived home and saw BUGGER lying forlornly in the kitchen, left behind in my rush to be a rebel.
Oh.....I sent a copy of this pic to Manchester Evening News...I've just had a reply from the Chief Reporter saying..Made my day that picture, if only we could put it on page 3!! ha ha ha ...I'm nearly a page 3 girl, yay!!!!!
