Shap Fells

Today's the day ............................. when winter returned

We woke up to a covering of snow this morning - albeit a bit wet and slushy.

Readers of this journal will know that's always a traumatic event for me - and can be enough to send me back to bed with the duvet up over my head.  It's even worse when I have already decided that we've moved into spring - and so, therefore, I am not of a mind to cope with it.

Fortunately I didn't have to cope with it for long because it had all but disappeared a couple of hours later.  It was still on the Fells though - and the icy blast that blew around me as I took this made me think that there's a bit more wintering out there before we can truly relax ..........................
