There's a river here...

 Ahhh - we had such a delightful night - it felt like it rained all night through, probably not, but it felt like it and it was still going strong when we woke up.  In reality, we only had about 35mls - the neighbouring farm had double that.  Life can be unfair sometimes.  

My husband (the wimp), didn't come out for a morning walk as he didn't want to get wet - a true Zimbabwean and my mother in law put off going into town on account of the rain.... So I took the boy out, along with five dogs and we had a lovely time. 

Later one, Dirk and I went out to check if the river that feeds the dam was flowing - a sign of how good the rains actually were.... and - nothing, a trickle underneath the sand when you dug away a little, but nothing more.  So our dam remains critically low and the feeder river isn't doing it's thing.  We keep hoping for more rain...
