Exploring

Dirk and I went for an 8 mile walk this morning - I got away quite lightly with just a camelbak of water, whilst Dirk carried 20kg, a rather large proportion of which being the child.  Suffice to say, that after an hour and 45 minutes coupled up in the child carrier back-pack thing, he was rather grateful to get out.  A nice explore of the garden ensued, the flower bed where the python is living proved to be a magnet for him (thankfully no python spotted), although his parents kept a rather close watch just in case.  It's too small to be of any harm, but they do still have a nasty bite on them. 

'Dubai' are visiting - Dirks brother and family who live in Dubai.  So it's a mad-house at the moment, albeit a delightful one.  This evening was braai cooked by Dirk up at 'Great Zim' - the braai area at the back of the house, it was beautiful in the dark with the lights strung across the cooking area.  The kids (Duabi have three) had a great time making the most of the dying embers and roasting marshmallows, with absolute conflicting advice from most adults about how they should be done.
