Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

Flashes of Hope

Captured a moment on the TV news this evening about "Flashes of Hope." They are a national nonprofit organization that photographs children, some facing serious health issues, in an effort to change how they view themselves.

Photographers volunteering their time in many hospitals across American to do photo shoots with families who have children dealing with terrible illnesses. What a wonderful endeavor.

We are packing for camp. Tomorrow we leave and it looks like without a miracle our little Tristan is not going to get to go with us. He is with his Dad at Lake Havasu at the moment and not due to return until late tomorrow evening and because they are having terrible flash flooding there, they may not return until Monday. By then we will be 26 miles across from the Los Angeles Harbor on Catalina Island. We are of course extremely disappointed. If a miracle happens, they will come home tomorrow morning. We must have him by noon or 12:30 at the latest to be to the boat on time.

We have friends from Texas coming with their extended family, so that will ease the disappointment some. I probably won't post for the remainder of the week.

Good night from Southern California.
