Spiders web (or birds nest?)

I took this on the way back from the morning walk - Dirk did tell me if it was a spiders web or birds nest, and now I can't remember, I think it's a spiders web as it doesn't have an entrance for a bird.  Whatever, it's still quite impressive (I think). 

We've had a day of planning and sorting - and scoring black marks for not going on a family outing to swim in the river in the rain.  On the plus side it's been raining (hurrah!), but we decided that given the sheer amount of sun shine we normally have, going out in the rain today wasn't going to be fun.  Plus, we had a child who decided that he wouldn't sleep in the afternoon, therefore a complete melt-down would ensue... the end result wasn't too bad, but he did fall asleep in my arms as I sat down to give him his evening bottle.  Tired, tired baby boy.
