...today was my viva!

After 2 hours and 45mins of answering questions and 10 more minutes of the reviewers' deliberation, i was called back into the viva room and ...

Internal Reviewer : We have decided to award you the degree of doctor of philosophy subject to minor corrections.

Me : ***WIDE SMILE***

It is amazing how the human brain works. I swear i have always believed that I would not be able to remember a lot of details of my study (thus the index cards of notes from yesterday's blip). Surprisingly i answered the questions as if they were as easy as being asked what my name is. And I did enjoy the exchange of conversation as well. Geeky much?

...and the celebration was continued back at the lab. My reviewers, supervisor, labmates and friends toasted to my victory with champagne and juice. Support from people have really been awesome. Wine glass clinking started at around 330pm and ended at 6pm. The post viva celebration was as long as my viva itself.

Tonight, i am going to give myself a break (i.e. sleep). Tomorrow, ill peak at my thesis corrections. In a couple of days, im gonna start addressing the corrections. Almost there...cant wait to go back to the Philippines. On my first day back, im going to sing my heart out in our karaoke. A thing that i havent really done here in the UK.
