There is the most beautiful picnic area you can imagine between Katoomba and Leura which affords visitors an entrance to the Blue Mountains National Park. A path leads one down through a temperate rainforest alongside Leura Falls Creek. The trail criss crosses the creek via a sequence of bridges as the stream gurgles its way over boulders and stones, below.

Eventually the descending way reaches a large rocky bower set back into the cliff, which affords us a great view of the Leura Cascade - our Blue Mountains Icon for today.
