Milestone
Tipped the scales at under 14 stone for the first time in probably 45 years. Here I'm wearing my wedding trousers from 2002 when I weighed in at over 17 stone, more like 17 1/2 stones I suspect. I thought I was fine; fit, active and so on. How deluded I was.
I started this journey in April 2003 and had reached a plateau of around 15 stone for several years and still thought I was fine; fit and active and so on. How deluded I was again.
It took some dodgy blood sugar readings to push on, so since October I've lost another stone, just gradually and gently. The real test of course, will be to see if my blood sugars have come down when I go for a retest next month.
Many years ago I remember being told that for my height, 6" 4', (193cm) I should be 13stone 10 lbs (87.1kg). Well I'm getting close now at 88.7kg. At the time I scorned the idea I should need to be that weight. Seems like I was wrong. Salutory lessons all around over many years too.
Apart from that, it was a regular sort of Friday, gym, lunch, allotment, omlette and salad, with a beer and chocolate to finish. Yes, yes I know, it's a Friday and Saturday night treat and all the advice is that treats are fine as long as they are controlled and limited. (And enjoyed much more)
