Balgavies Loch
We should have stayed at home if we'd only wanted the sunshine:-) Instead, we drove to Balgavies Loch near Forfar for a walk round the perimeter. The clouds did eventually part to show some blue sky, but it was so much sunnier when we got home!
Nonetheless, it was a lovely walk with lots of birds seen and heard. A thrush regaled us with an amazing selection of its repertoire for ages, although the photo I took of him was poor as he was so high up in a tree.
On the loch we saw lots of different geese and ducks, including Mr & Mrs Pochard, which we haven't ever seen before. (See Extras). Also spotted a bird on some reeds which we think is a reed bunting (makes sense!), but the photo isn't great (see Extras).
We also saw a Frequently Spotted Marathon Runner!! A young runner lapped us four times as we took our leisurely stroll and she still had breath to say hello each time:-)
Back home, I sat out in the sun to read the paper and think I may have got sunburnt:-) How ridiculous is that?
