Happy Visitors

Decided to make the most of the dry start to the day and headed out in the boat for a spot of fishing off the point. Despite Sammy the seal (who steals fish off your line) being about, the fishing was excellent with plenty of big Mackerel to be caught.

Son #1, his girlfriend and her father all had a great time and all caught some fish. However, first prize went to SuziQ who managed to get 6 big Mackerel on the one line! We ended up with a bucket full, which Mrs B kindly gutted and filleted ahead of our BBQ this evening. The rest have gone to nearby friends for their dinner or will go in the freezer.

In the afternoon we all headed down to Campbeltown and walked over the causeway to Davaar Island. We visited the cave with the painting of the crucifixion before heading back to the car. It was a great walk despite the misty rain that came on.

Time now to fire up the BBQ and get the smoker ready to cook all those delicious big Mackerel fillets!

PS - I would love to have blipped the 6 Mackerel on the one line, but my hands were covered in blood and things from landing all our visitor's fish, making blipping impractical!
