African Paradise Flycatcher
My bird of the year so far! This African Paradise Flycatcher(Terpsiphone viridis)was on my wish list but, I never really expected to see this exotic beauty, a visitor from the Sahara)With its blue-grey crested head, blue eye ring and beak, bright rusty orange and light grey body and wing feathers it really is a stunning little bird. The location(see extra photo) is one that I could happily spend at huge amount of time at and one that must be a birders paradise. With my camera (for once properly on a tripod) and just about to move on, this unforgettable bird chose to land and pose for me. I call myself incredible lucky, with my youngest son next to me he actually looked quite impressed about a bird for once!
