Trees of dust

In complete contrast to the East Coast, urban nature of my past week's photos (all right, I know several were indoors, but I did take others), this is what I was looking at this afternoon as we walked by a pale sea under flat grey clouds with fleeting patches of sunshine. There were no towering cumulus, no vivid blue sky - but this livid cloud and the illuminated field where a flooded area has become a permanent pond and the still-bare trees looked as if they were formed of dust.
