Pacific Ocean at Del Mar dog beach

Big smile today as we went to the ocean to walk the dogs. Being on the shores of the mighty Pacific is always a thrill, raises the spirits and creates a feel good factor.

Del Mar, like most of the coast here is backed by impressive cliffs of vivid oranges and Browns interspersed with greys and greens, some riddled with fossil shells, some devoid of fossils, always with the roar of the ocean as a backdrop.

Both dogs had great fun on the sand and in the water, in company of most of the other dogs from this part of the world. If you were a dog, this is where you'd want to be today.

On our return we stopped in Carlsbad for an ice cream at Gaia Gelato. The girls had honey and lavender, Chris had vanilla caramel and I had chocolate and roast hazelnut. All very good.

I went for quick run when we got back then we went out to Bellows for dinner. A pleasant place with contemporary industrial decor with good food and complimentary valet parking - he parked the car no more than 20 metres from where we got out.
