Olympics day (rescheduled x3)

Got to school this morning to see the Olympics ceremony shenanigans were to be held in an hours time. I love not working these days and being able to attend things at the school. Something I always felt so guilty to miss things when they were little.

E was in team Australia and they sang "cookooburra (no idea how to spell that) sits on the old gum tee" complete with Australian cork dangling hats.

M, featured here, was in team china and they made a massive dancing dragon. M didn't make the grade for the dragon and didn't qualify to shake an instrument but she did sing an looked quite happy doing so.

Nice break in the weather today and actually got some washing out to dry. It's been a while since weve done that. With the wettest summer on records I look around and notice that nature is in a bit of a tizz. There's hardly any flowers, not wasps or bees, and even today in the dry, there are slugs all over the shop. J was saying he'd heard on the radio that certain wildlife had lost lots of they species due to being unable to breed. And the ones that migrated to lay eggs often got flooded and washed out to sea. Very sad.
