I managed to accomplish quite a bit around the flat, both domestic and musical, before I went out with a heavy load of books destined for the Oxfam bookshop in Stockbridge (hardly made an impression on the pile, mind). They seemed particularly pleased with the science fiction. I wended my way up to the Dean Bridge via the Dean Gardens, which were full of lovely spring flowers - first bluebells I've seen, fritillaries abounding, miniature cyclamen and lots of wood anemones.

I've never known a name for that wee bridge that crosses the Water of Leith just upstream from Stockbridge - I guess it's an extension of India Place, so is it India Bridge?
