Koala sighting!

Out early in the morning sun for my morning walk. It takes an hour if I don't stop for coffee or chat too much to folk. 

The only drawback to this walking lark is my problem feet. They are a problem in that when I try on shoes in a shop, my feet tell me that they are the comfiest shoes ever. When I get home, they also tell me that they are comfy. But when I wear them for a day, my feet complain like mad!

And so, today we set off for the Glass Mountains, but the fluffy white clouds turned very dark, so we diverted to the coast and popped into a huge shopping centre, where I got a very comfy pair of shoes...

I am doing this now with my feet in a basin or warm water, trying to soothe them. I may have to shuffle out in my slippers tomorrow!

Popped down to the beach this afternoon/evening (same thing!) to see what was going on. Beautiful sunset of course. I took loads of pics- I could have a beach blip every night, but you all might get tired of that!

We walked along the boardwalk to the national park, and wouldn't you know it, the koala that was up a very leafy tree last time, as a grey blob, was sitting in full view on a bare trunk. Wow! I've had to crop the photo a lot, so don't bother going large!

There was a huge racket going on, caused by two cockatoos, who were NOT happy with a couple of lorikeets. The former were trying to chase the latter away from their prospective house. The little lorikeets had their eye on a nice old hole in the tree, and they weren't going to give up easily.  We watched as a lorikeet climbed down a wee twig, and the cockatoo climbed down after him. What entertainment!

The koala seemed to be asleep, as per, but eventually he couldn't stand the noise and began to stretch and look around. The lorikeets eventually flew off, and the cockatoos then set their sights on the poor wee innocent koala, who was quite near their home. I think they'd be the bird equivalent of the neighbours from hell!

The koala looked around, stretched a few times, but made no move to depart. We waited for ages. My neck was sore looking up, but we had to give up. 

I bet the koala skipped off up the tree as soon as we'd gone, a bit like those old Kit Kat panda ads. I can't put a link to You Tube on my iPad, but just google it, if you have time.

It's so easy to have a brilliant time here!
