Wedding Window Boxes

It was SOOO hot today (90* with high humidity) - and I had a wedding to photograph. As hot as I was, I could only imagine how the bride felt - carrying around all that fabric, or the Groom, staying in his tux!

The ceremony was at McGrath Pond in Oakland - what a beautiful area. Perhaps we'll grab the kayaks/boat and spend an afternoon there fishing and relaxing?

This image was taken at the reception - Lakewood Golf Course. They have beautiful buildings and landscaping - this window box set against the aged cedar shakes peaked my interest. I love old things spruced with new growth.

I went out onto the golf course with the wedding party in golf carts. Didn't that bring back memories! The last time I drove a golf cart, I was 16 on Frye Island. The memories of my childhood spent on Sebago Lake and Frye Island, cousins, aunts, uncles, and my beloved grandparents - I thought of Danna & Puppa often that evening!

I'm reminded of blessed memories with each wedding I photograph - I can't tell you why they touch me so. Sometimes, it's the dance between Dad & daughter, sometimes it's the "something borrowed" that came from a great-grandmothers wedding dress.... sometime's it's a simple ride in a golf cart.

It's truly why I love shooting weddings - It's a memorable day for the bride & groom and a day that brings up memories for me.
