Kaikoura, East Coast, South Island

School holidays. An ideal time to get away for a few days. So that's what we've done.

We packed the van this morning and headed to Kaikoura, a 4 hour drive from home.

We arrived at 3.30pm, set up camp, had a cup of tea and then went for a walk into town. We walked pass a fish and chip shop and saw they were advertising cooked oysters. Yum! So we bought some and some chips and had them for tea. And they were yum!

I took this photo down at the beach. The sun was shining beautifully on the cliffs and looked gorgeous. It's meant to be a fine week, so we're hoping to get out and about in the next few days and explore the countryside.
