Pink-blooming Ginger

This cascade of blooms caught my eye as we were leaving the apartment this morning, & when I saw Rose (the lady we're renting from) I had to ask her what it was. I was so surprised when she said ginger, as I never expected a ginger plant to look like this!  (In truth, I never really gave it much thought, as I've only seen the ginger plant/roots in the store!)  The blooms are  just starting to open from the top down--I can't wait to see it when they've all opened fully! A beautiful, sunny day today--heading to the boardwalk tomorrow!
