Foreshortening

We walked out to the post box today to send our ballot forms off. I took my wee Nikon camera with me. It's a bridge type camera, with a 42x zoom lens. I grabbed a distant shot, on full zoom, to do a kind of "that van's almost as big as our entire house" shot.

Looking at the image when home again, I was struck by how obvious the foreshortening effect is - that house on the hill must be the best part of a mile away from ours.

We are still toying with the idea of taking the van back and swapping to a more European style. Just can't seem to quite make our minds up in either direction... yet. Things will come right in the end.
