Tram in Budapest

I thought l had better post a street shot rather than another of the majestic Parliament Building. This was taken close to the Hungarian Parliament Building though. Our overall impressions of Budapest are the friendly and gentle nature of the people, the cleanliness of the streets and the grandeur of their buildings.

Today we visited St Stephen's Basilica whose opulence is almost breathtaking inside, see extra, we climbed the staircases for the panoramic views outside and then walked past the Hungarian Parliament to Margaret Island. This island is situated in the middle of the River Danube and is very green with trees and gardens. Many Hungarians were exercising here walking their dogs, running around the island perimeter or using the sports facilities in the stadium.

After exhausting ourselves by walking everywhere we returned to our hotel to rest before an evening concert in St Stephen's Basilica.
