Riccal Dale Walk

We are always striving to find new walks not too far from home. One of the ladies at Pilates last week mentioned that Riccal Dale was a good bluebell walk. So this afternoon we went to investigate. We parked near to Pockley a lovely village with lots of thatched cottages.

How you can overlook such a beautiful dale so close at hand is beyond me. As we descended into the valley bottom we could see the last of the wild Daffodils, Primroses. Wood Anenome, Wild Garlic and of course Bluebells.  The valley was also very sheltered and opened up to Silver Birch and copiced woodland as we progressed. Definitely a walk we will return to and perhaps extend to do the full valley walk.
