Closer to home

....and that was just when she was beginning her campaign for selection let alone the public vote. And ever since, for months, I've never seen someone work so flat out to learn, do and deliver, learning about issues the length and breadth of Aberdeenshire East, while looking out for and building a cracking team of supporters.

Best wishes for a fantastic day tomorrow Gillian and with the best of outcomes, a great term in Holyrood. Feisty enough to help challenge unhelpful politics without an old school ego, committed and genuine enough to want to do the best job and learn from the good days and the bad days, a much needed reminder that politics is not just for dinosaurs. It will be a weird and wonderful couple of days. Making politics accessible for yer average punter, who could have foreseen that Scotland could remain so politically engaged post referendum.
