Lunch is Served

Red-shouldered Hawk bringing a lizard lunch to it's chicks. We approximate  the two chicks to be between 12 and 15 days old on second thought...they are most likely older than that, maybe closer to 20 to 25 days. Next time I do this I'll mark in on a calendar! Anyway...Both parents are doing a great job feeding them. I watched this morning as the larger of the two took a large frog from mom/dad. The smaller chick, who was down in the nest, grabbed onto the other end and a Tug of War ensued. Surprisingly, the smaller bird ended up with the prize and gulped it down. I have photos of all that drama and although they aren't my best, my 'Extra' shows everyone in the nest amazed and proud of the little gal/guy!

Wishing you all a Very Wonderful Weekend. I hope that your weather is fair and that you enjoy all that you have planned! :)
