The accidental finding

Glass half full?

I was getting ready for today's trip to Birmingham when the phone began to ring and ring. The tour guide was down at Stroud station, telling us there was no way we'd get to Brum today, as the line was blocked because a joyrider had crashed a tractor into a bridge somewhere north of Cheltenham.

Deep joy. I had to make lots of calls to prevent people setting out for the station. Once that was done, I felt deeply disappointed, so decided to call two of the Brum party members to see if we could salvage something from the day. They too had had the same thought, so we had a brief confab before setting off for Nature in Art, to see the same exhibitions that CleanSteve and our friends saw yesterday!

It was a glorious blue sky day, (but cold out of the sunshine) and we enjoyed the exhibits and pottering around the garden of Wallsworth Hall, where the museum is sited. After leaving, we located the nearby village of Norton, and the Red Lion pub on the banks of the Severn at Wainlode. We sat in the garden looking for house Martin's flying around the old pub, but there weren't as many as there had been on previous occasions. I snapped this idle shot of my Cider glass. It was all unhurried, a true holiday. Then one of our party felt the need to seek out cake, and to check out a homeware shop in Gloucester. We spent a fairly hilarious half hour in there, sampling sweets in the bargain section, which had been opened by someone else. A. rejected the cakes on offer, but as we had bought some sweets and biscuits too, and only some of them were disgusting, we had something to nibble at on the way home to Stroud.

Once home, I lay in the cabin and finished my sad book, Infinite Sky, by CJ Flood. I'll be looking out for more by this author if teen fiction.
