Cross-Country

Our cross-country was planned for today, after it had been postponed last week due to wet weather.

When we woke up this morning it was raining, and it was touch and go as to whether the cross-country would still proceed.  However, the sun was out by 11am, and it was decided to proceed with the competition.

Here's my two boys, C on the left and T on the right.  C finished 1st while T was 4th.  They both made me a proud mum.

This is the 7th year in a row that C has won the competition, and will be the last year he does that, as it's his last year at school.

It was great watching all the students compete today.  Some completed the running with the view of winning, while others just enjoyed themselves.  Either way, it doesn't matter where they came;  it's the fact they participated.  And I'm sure they all had fun.

It was nice to see the sun for part of today.  After a week of very wet weather, with more on the way, I wish we could send some of it over to the East Coast of the South Island who are so dry - winter sport in North Canterbury has had to be cancelled as the ground is too hard.  I certainly wouldn't mind sharing it!
