Falasarna
Falasarna feels like land's end - the westernmost shore of Crete where the waves roll endlessly onto a golden sand beach; a feeling almost like that of the Outer Hebrides only warm and golden. The Minoans had a port here: a site that today we were unable to explore as it is now behind a fence and open only on certain days. I'm sure it was completely deserted the first time we went there - deserted and unexcavated.
I've loved swimming here on past visits, but today there was time only for a paddle.
