Day two: Jedburgh to Hexham

Today was a fairly short ride - 71km (45miles) - but there was a lot of climb, over 1100 meters. The climb over Carter Bar was much easier than anticipated, just sustained and steady and once you get a rhythm, you just kept going. However the ups and downs and up and up on the A68 were hard work! We made good progress and stopped for lunch 5 miles from Hexham. We arrived at our host's, an old friend of Ferelith's with a wicked sense of humour, quite early and were really given the royal treatment! Great evening!
