What a glorious bank holiday Monday it has been. I went along to Dunham Massey with Jude...along with hundreds of others. There was a free guided walk about to start as we arrived and so we decided to do it. Ranger Mike was fabulous, he had so many interesting facts about the estate and the families who have lived there...such as the 7th Earl, one of the wealthiest men in the country, good looking, sporty and the catch of the day. What must his parents have thought when he married the daughter of a servant? When she died a few years after the marriage they probably breathed a sigh of relief...until he married a bare back circus rider. Oh, I do like social history.

There were baby coots and ducklings on the pond, the swans were still waiting for their cygnets to hatch and the does had hidden themselves away ready to give birth. The deer park was closed so that the does could give birth away from people, but we saw a few bucks wandering around.

We had a cheeky ice cream in the sunshine before we left and headed towards the Trafford Centre. I need some yellow berets for Saturday as the coven are going to Victoria Station for a Victoria Wood celebration, Have you seen 'er?  I still haven't found any.....has anyone any ideas where I can buy five before Saturday?

We bought a few nibbles to eat with a glass of wine in the garden when we returned....a lovely way to finish off the day. Now I can hardly keep my eyes open.
